2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the HQ of 33 Squadron in Gainsborough, sent here to try to intercept Zeppelins crossing Lincolnshire. Eight officers from the Squadron are buried in the cemetery close to the Chapel. The officers are from New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Argentina and London. There will be an exhibition in the Chapel and cemetery walks to see the restored headstones. Book 3 of Gainsborough’s War Story will be available.

More information about the location can be found at this link: Friends of the General Cemetery website.
