Morton St Paul and its labyrinth

St Paul’s has ten windows designed by Edward Burne-Jones, who worked on them with William Morris. 

The carpet in front of the altar is also of a William Morris design. 

The font is of Frosterley marble and has a beautifully carved canopy. 

The Augustus Gern organ was built in 1891 and the organ case is a fine piece of craftsmanship.

This 20th Century brick built church may appear plain externally but benefits internally from some splendid features transferred from an estate chapel at Walmsgate near Louth. 

This interesting building is used regularly each month by a group of worshippers of the Barlings group.

 Light refreshments will be available alongside a small art and calligraphy display.

St Mary’s church, 11th century, described as an enigma and notable for its Baldacchino canopy over the altar, and the special sense of peace people experience as they step inside. 

Visitors are welcome to listen to a talk and discover more about St Mary’s mysterious history, enjoy the secluded location, or sit quietly in church for a moment of calm.

Our 12th century church stands in an Anglo-Saxon town, with a chance to link your visit to the historic ‘Time Travellers’ Town Trail. Weather permitting, we shall offer tower tours, giving access to the bells, clock workings and spectacular views over Kirton Lindsey. View local archive material and church silver. Enjoy activities for children and families and flower displays on the ‘Time Travellers’ theme. Refreshments available all day, including delicious home-made soup at lunchtime.

Heapham • All Saints

On entry to the church path, very visible on the tower is a keyhole window. Set in a picturesque setting, this delightful church has the remains of a Saxon cross very close to the south facing door as well as having features of Norman arches. 

A very interesting feature are the two upside faces carved out on one of the pillars.

There is graffiti dating between 11th and 13th century. Also, a Norman tub font.

A warm welcome awaits you at this beautiful Victorian Gothic church with fine carved woodwork situated in peaceful surrounding among trees and parkland of Hackthorn Hall, overlooking the lake.

There is an outstanding 1869 Nicholson organ of historic importance, restored in 1999. 

A peal of six bells was installed in 2006. Tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits.

Greetwell • All Saints

The medieval settlement of Greetwell was established before the 11th century with 20-30 households. Up to the 15th century it was self sufficient in grain and had a dairy, a smithy, bakery, church and priest. 

Today, Greetwell flourishes with no village but a congregation from far and wide. 

Greetwell is one mile east of Lincoln on the road to Cherry Willingham.

Grayingham • St Radegund

Our new extension on the south side of the church is now finished – disabled toilet, servery and meeting room. Also a disabled entrance through the new extension. Food all day using local produce.

One of only five churches in the country dedicated to St Radegund. It originated from the 13th & 14th centuries but archaeologists found evidence of an Anglo Saxon Church. Parts were rebuilt in 1797 and at the beginning of the 20th century.

The church retains the original boxed pews, which are used to display hand embroidered kneelers. The pulpit and a nearby stained glass window are commissioned war memorials from WW1.

A very different Georgian-style church with mediaeval tower and magnificent interior, with a fine copy of Da Vinci’s The Last Supper behind the altar. The organ is a three-manual Walker (1906). Beautiful stained-glass windows, 17th century marble font and memorial headstone of Richard Rollett, master sailmaker to Captain James Cook on HMS The Resolution. Guided visits to the mediaeval Bell Tower.

The north door is Norman, as are all the arches between the nave and chancel and the north aisle. Beautiful stained glass in the East and Skepper windows. Remembrance books and links with the RAF Squadrons within the Lady Chapel.

East Stockwith • St Peter

St Peter’s, East Stockwith is a Victorian Mission church built in 1846 with the vestry added in 1895. It was badly damaged by an earthquake in 2008. The story of the rebuild is told in photographs in the church. A warm welcome awaits all.

A church has stood on this site for over 1,000 years. 

In the late 19th century under the influence of the Oxford Movement two sisters; Mary Beckett and Elizabeth, Lady Bacon engaged G F Bodley and Thomas Garner to both restore and recapture the ‘beauty of holiness’, a glimpse of heaven! These two architects scattered gold dust and raised this church to great heights. 

The church contains stained glass by Wailes Kempe and Christopher Whall. 

The Lady Chapel has been given over to Community Outreach, increasing footfall and funds to upkeep this Grade I listed church. 

With a reputation for serving high quality light refreshments and lunches a warm welcome awaits you.

A Grade II* listed St Peter’s sits in the heart of the village. It has three bells and a delightful stained glass East Window. There is a medieval tympanum in the tower wall, an ancient sarcophagus, a Joyce of Whitchurch clock and a 150 year old Nicholson organ. The lychgate is our War Memorial. Our theme is ‘Hobbies + Pursuits’.  Plant stall and book stall.
