Cabourne St. Nicholas’ tower is of architectural interest and considered
to be of Anglo-Saxon origin. The tower walls are 3 feet 9 inches thick.
The tower arch stands about 15 feet high and is 6 feet wide. The rough
cut foundation stones can be seen at the west end of the nave. The
spring in the field to the north of the church is linked to St Nicholas
and baptism.
