Barnoldby le Beck - St Helens

St Helen’s is a Grade I listed building built between the 12th and 13th centuries. 

Constructed in the Early English style, it has been described as plain and has undergone many restorations over the years. The church is dedicated to St Helena, the mother of Emperor Constantine the Great. 

The South porch dates to 12th century and includes a mass dial scratched into the stone. The font bowl is 11th/12th century which was discovered under the 13th century font. 

The stained glass is 14th century.   The tower has three bells.  

Visitors are welcome to discover the churchyard which is carpeted with primroses in the spring.
