Reepham church dates back to the 12th century but it was substantially remodelled in the Victorian period. In the last twenty years it has been reordered with new seating, a servery and a toilet. 

This year our themed exhibition is ‘Were you there when?’ It will be an opportunity to celebrate, remember and commemorate special moments from the past and present, local and national.

Owmby by Spital • St Peter & St Paul

A beautiful Norman church, entrance at the base of the partly medieval tower with belfry windows. This has three bells dating from 1687, one of which is in use. 

12th century arcade separates nave from aisle, its pointed arches rest on large based pillars, some with ancient graffiti. 

Entrance archway and font are Saxon. The capitals are decorated with bold leaf carvings. Chancel and stained glass window behind the altar are later editions. 

Themed exhibitions ‘History of the villages and the churches' with items on loan from Lincoln Archives.

Newton on Trent • St Peter

Newton on Trent • St Peter

With Saxon origins, the church was rebuilt as a traditional Norman church with a narrow nave and chancel with west tower. A north aisle was added during the Early English period when the Bishop of Lincoln gave it to the Gilbertine Priory of St Katherine without Lincoln. The influence of this connection can be seen in the quality of the aisle arcade capitals, two of which can be matched to a mason working on Lincoln Cathedral.

Morton • St Paul

Morton St Paul and its labyrinth

St Paul’s welcomes visitors to view its collection of ten windows designed by Sir Edward Burne-Jones, who worked on them with William Morris. 

The carpet in front of the altar is also of a William Morris design. 

Font of Frosterley Marble surmounted by a fine canopy. 

The Augustus Gern organ was built in 1891 and the organ case is a wonderful piece of craftsmanship.

Kirton in Lindsey • St Andrew

A 12th century church standing in an Anglo-Saxon town, this is an interesting visit. There will be tower tours giving access to the bells and spectacular views over Kirton. 

We will have flower displays, archives, church silver and activities for children. 

There’s a sponsored bike ride and refreshments, including lunch. 

The overall theme is Heaven and Earth.

On this site Katherine Swynford, mistress of John of Gaunt lived and worshipped here. Come and find about their famous love affair and court scandal at the NEW Katherine exhibition. 

Also an extensive display of artistic hand crafted kneelers and the famous restored French pulpit.

St Peter & St Paul’s church holds a service most Sundays always using The Book of Common Prayer. Everyone of all ages welcome.

The front porch of our church is adorned with the Tournay Arms and a rare medieval ‘pieta’, a representation of the Virgin with the dead Christ across her knees. 

We have stained glass by Whale and box pews.

A very different Georgian-style church with medieval tower and magnificent interior, with a copy of Da Vinci’s The Last Supper behind the altar. The organ is a three-manual Walker (1906). 

See also the beautiful stained glass, late 17th century marble font and memorial headstone of Richard Rollett, master sailmaker to Captain James Cook on HMS The Resolution, who died two hundred years ago in 1824. Guided visits into the Bell Tower.

Corringham • St Laurence

There has been a church on this site well over 1,000 years older than the British monarchy. It is 140 years since Bodley & Garner spread gold dust and beautified this Grade I church paid for by Mary Beckett. The parish registers will be made available. 

Come and see the stone coffin found under the altar in 1883/84. 

We shall have a churchyard tour weather permitting. 

The refreshments and lunches are Michelin star quality! 

A warm welcome awaits you.

Our church also has a beautifully restored Bodley Ceiling.

St Mary’s nestles is a sleepy village among fields of sheep. It has a Romanesque arch from an original tower, 13th century arcades in the nave and seven floor stones dating from an earlier period. 

There is an exhibition on the history and origins of the village together with stories of local residents and their lives. 

A warm welcome awaits those who come to sample our homemade cakes and savouries, including our popular gluten free and vegetarian offerings.

‘Simply Stainfield St Andrews’ celebrates the rich heritage of this beautiful Queen Anne church set amidst picturesque parkland, on the site of a Benedictine nunnery. 

The Viking Way passes by the church, reputed to be designed by Christopher Wren. 

View the magnificent 18th century Tyrwhitt Tapestries, wonder at the local Wild Man legend, and contemplate the nunnery, church and village history in this tranquil setting.

St Oswald’s is surrounded by a deserted medieval village site. Inside is a surprising number of notable monuments, both in brass and stone, dating from the 14th - 16th century.

Outstanding is a rare coped stone coffin lid, believed to date from between the 10th and 12th centuries. Information on church history, brass rubbing, cake stall.

Middle Rasen • St Peter and St Paul

A warm welcome awaits everyone at St Peter & St Paul’s. 

Through the south entrance door, a splendid example of Norman work with three bands of mouldings of continuous motif, an inner zigzag, a middle band of crenellation and an outer band of beakheads. It is among the country’s most impressive Norman doorways. 

Displays will focus on ‘Holiday Memories’. Various hot homemade soups, bread rolls, tea, coffee, cold drinks, cakes and biscuits will be served both days.
